Tax Manager

Our client, a Top 15 nationwide accountancy, are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join their busy Norwich team.

As the Tax Manager you will be reporting to the Partners and Directors. You will be responsible for all aspects of the management of the compliance and basic planning work, which is undertaken for clients of the practice on an ad-hoc and annual basis.

Responsibilities include:


• Control, on an annual basis, all tax compliance work and ensuring that all internal and client based and legislative deadlines are met.
• Ensure the firm’s standard processes are used in the production of compliance tax work and ensuring that technical standards are maintained.
• Manage the tax team and ensure they are engaged and understand the team and business objectives.
• Ensure the client handling partners and senior managers are kept fully informed on the monthly progress of the work areas you are responsible for.
• Write professional letters, reports and other written submissions.
• Generate new advisory tax work.
• Professionally represent the firm in dealing with clients and other professionals.
• Actively take part in Manager Workshops and keep your training and knowledge up to date.
• You may be required to take part in the recruitment and selection of team members
• Ensuring staff within your department, are allocated to and attend the correct training courses.
• Seek opportunities to increase client billings and to seek new clients for the practice, where possible.
• You will keep up-to-date with internal communications, policies and procedures and ensure anyone reporting to you does the same.


As the Tax Manager, you will be comfortable interacting with employees, clients, potential clients and connectors on all levels.


The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines and expectations are met.
